Responsibly Addressing the US Debt and Profligate Government Spending: Republicans Will Be Demonized In All Scenarios

Given the intransigence and ideological rigidity of the Democrats, Republicans may be forced to decide between the two calamitous scenarios as regards the US debt. The first would be to give in to the Democrats who oppose even the most minimal spending reduction, raise the debt ceiling and allow the debt to continue to skyrocket to the point of insolvency.

The second option would be to shut down the government until appropriate and effective spending reductions are agreed upon and can be instituted. Any such agreement may take quite a while to reach and, of course, would result in the U.S. defaulting on its obligations which will have quite severe consequences.

Though the Democrats will be the offending and irresponsible party in either of these financial meltdown scenarios, the Republicans will be blamed instead by the news media.

Government: US Default Could Be Doomsday Option For Economy
Scott Baker  April 23, 2011

WASHINGTON (AP) — The United States has never defaulted on its debt and Democrats and Republicans say they don’t want it to happen now. But with partisan acrimony running at fever pitch, and Democrats and Republicans so far apart on how to tame the deficit, the unthinkable is suddenly being pondered.

The government now borrows about 42 cents of every dollar it spends. Imagine that one day soon, the borrowing slams up against the current debt limit ceiling of $14.3 trillion and Congress fails to raise it. The damage would ripple across the entire economy, eventually affecting nearly every American, and rocking global markets in the process.

A default would come if the government actually failed to fulfill a financial obligation, including repaying a loan or interest on that loan. The government borrows mostly by selling bonds to individuals and governments, with a promise to pay back the amount of the bond in a certain time period and agreeing to pay regular interest on that bond in the meantime.

Among the first directly affected would likely be money-market funds holding government securities, banks that buy bonds directly from the Federal Reserve and resell them to consumers, including pension and mutual funds; and the foreign investor community, which holds nearly half of all Treasury securities.

If the U.S. starts missing interest or principal payments, borrowers would demand higher and higher rates on new bonds, as they did with Greece, Portugal and other heavily indebted nations. Who wants to keep loaning money to a deadbeat nation that can’t pay its bills?

At some point, the government would have to slash spending in other areas to make room for any further sales of Treasury bills and bonds. That could squeeze payments to federal contractors, and eventually even affect Social Security and other government benefit payments, as well as federal workers’ paychecks.

A default would likely trigger another financial panic like the one in 2008 and plunge an economy still reeling from high joblessness and a battered housing market back into recession. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke calls failure to raise the debt limit “a recovery-ending event.” U.S. stock markets would likely tank — devastating roughly half of U.S. households that own stocks, either individually or through 401(k) type retirement programs.

Eventually, the cost of most credit would rise — from business and consumer loans to home mortgages, auto financing and credit cards.
Continued stalemate could also further depress the value of the dollar and challenge the greenback‘s status as the world’s prime “reserve currency.”

China and other countries that now hold about 50 percent of all U.S. Treasury securities could start dumping them, further pushing up interest rates and swelling the national debt. It would be a vicious cycle of higher and higher interest rates and more and more debt.

The U.S. has long been the global standard for financial stability and creditworthiness, with Treasury securities seen as a fail-safe investment. But after the near-shutdown of the U.S. government and a new credit-rating report this week questioning the country’s fiscal health, Treasury bills and bonds are losing luster.

If there is a debt limit deadlock, the government by this summer could find itself legally unable to borrow more money to pay its bills, beginning with interest on its debt and gradually extending to day-to-day federal operations. At some point, the government would have to decide which bills to pay and which to put aside.

The debt ceiling will be hit on or around May 16, the Treasury Department says. Unlike the threatened government shutdown, the impact would start slowly, but then build mightily until the damage would be so dire that few political leaders or economists even want to contemplate it. The day of reckoning could likely be delayed at least until early July with creative bookkeeping.

When the House first rejected the Bush administration’s $600-billion bank bailout in September 2008, the Dow Jones industrials went into a dizzying 778-point tailspin. A whiff of a possible similar stock market collapse came on Monday with a sharp selloff on Wall Street when the Standard & Poors lowered its outlook on U.S. debt to “negative” from “stable,” possibly a first step toward a possible downgrade of America’s coveted AAA credit rating.

“We haven’t downgraded it. We just said, if nothing happens, we may have to,” said S&P chief economist David Wyss. He said a government default remains uncharted territory, “which is one reason why it’s not a good idea to hit the debt ceiling.”

“There’s reason to worry,” said Wyss. “But my best guess is that we sort of muddle through this. Cuts will be made, they’ll be too little too late, but at least they will be enough to maintain a triple-A rating.”

“It’s another game of chicken. And this time there are Mack trucks going at each other, not bumper cars. This is a biggie,” said American University political scientist James Thurber. But he predicted that, as in the past, “there will be an accommodation. They will avoid a crash.”

Investment bank J.P. Morgan Chase recently concluded that any delay in making an interest or principal payments by the Treasury “even for a very short period of time” would have large “long-term adverse consequences for Treasury finances and the U.S. economy.” The analysis is being circulated on Capitol Hill by supporters of raising the debt limit.

“If anyone wants to push that button, which I think would be catastrophic and unpredictable, I think they’re crazy,” JP Morgan CEO Jaime Dimon said recently of those seeking to block raising the debt limit.

House Speaker John Boehner and most other GOP leaders agree on the need to raise the debt limit — and don’t want to be held responsible for a new financial meltdown. Still, they want Obama to make more concessions on spending cuts than he has done thus far. That isn’t sitting well with liberal Democrats, who think Obama has already given too much ground.

One reason the two parties can’t find common ground: they can‘t even agree on what’s causing high deficits. Democrats mostly blame it on policies of George W. Bush: two wars, tax cuts that continue to benefit the wealthy and an expensive prescription drug program. Republicans see government spending as the culprit, particularly on Obama’s watch.

In fact, the main reason is the deep recession, which slashed tax revenues and led to hundreds of billions of dollars in recession-fighting spending by both Bush and Obama. The debt was $9 trillion in late 2007 before the start of the Great Recession, and it’s just a sliver under the $14.3 trillion limit today.

Even though GOP leaders say they want to avoid more economic chaos, there is a large crop of tea-party aligned Republicans threatening to refuse to raise the cap under almost any circumstance. Polls suggest a large percentage of Americans oppose raising the debt limit.

The debt limit has been raised ten times over the past decade. Obama voted against Bush’s debt-limit increase in 2006 as a senator, accusing Bush of “a leadership failure.“ Obama recently apologized for ”making what is a political vote as opposed to doing what was important for the country.”

Conservatives Must Vociferously and Relentlessly Oppose Obama, Progressives and Their Agendas

In the following call to arms, conservative Lloyd Marcus exhorts all of us to vociferously oppose Obama, Progressives and their anti-American, anti-freedom and big government agenda. Being politically correct or silent will not allow us to obtain our goals. We must be fearless and relentless in our attempts to oust Obama and the Democrats in Congress (and elsewhere).

Tea Party David Vs. Two-Headed Goliath
Lloyd Marcus April 23, 2011

On the O'Reilly Factor TV show, Dennis Miller was asked his thoughts regarding the media's response to Obama's numerous flip flops.  Miller said the media will report whatever Obama does in a positive light.
We patriots are well aware of the liberal media's love affair with Obama.  And yet, for some reason, the reality of Miller's comment hit me hard right between the eyes.  I thought, "Oh my gosh. This is not funny. Our country is in serious trouble."

Not only must we defeat the Obama administration, we must take on and defeat the liberal mainstream media as well; take on the two powerful well-funded entities committed to the fundamental transformation of America. Lord, help us!

Patriots, we can, will and must defeat this two headed evil Goliath.  Despite the left's shock and awe public relations slanderous attacks on the tea party and our candidates, we took the House of Representatives.  Thus proving, they can be beaten!

I am so sick of advisors cautioning us conservatives to walk on eggshells when dealing with the liberal media.  It has even been suggested that we stop using the term "tea party" due to the negative image created by the media.

Patriots, even if we change our name to the "Happy Go Lucky Nice People Movement," we will still be targeted for destruction by the media.  What part of they hate us and want us to fail do our advisors not understand?  The liberal media is going to put a negative spin on whatever we say.

Now, am I advocating saying stupid provocative things?  Of course not.  I am advocating fearlessly and aggressively attacking Obama's horrific record.  Call out the liberal media on their biased reporting.  Stop allowing the Democrats and their media minions to set the rules of engagement.  Patriots, the stakes are far too high to wimp out foolishly seeking approval from those actively pursuing our total destruction.

Again, I say, what do we have to lose by confronting the democrats and the liberal media?  They are going to trash us regardless.

Yes, they will call you a racist.  I say this in love: "Get over it."  Throughout U.S. history many have suffered far greater and paid the ultimate sacrifice.  Why?  Because America is worth it.

Tons of articles have been written calling me a stupid self loathing n****r, an Uncle Tom, a tea party minstrel, a traitor, a sellout, and a clown.  It all rolls off my back.  I know I am on the right side.  So, why should I care what evil stupid people say or think of me?  But most of all, my strength and peace comes through knowing God is with us and America is worth it.

Like little David in the Bible, we must boldly confront the two headed Goliath, Obama administration/liberal media.

Why do you think Trump and Palin are doing so well in the polls?  Both are boldly and unapologetically takin' it to Obama and are not kowtowing to the liberal media.  Patriots are frustrated with Republicans pandering and trying to "play nice" with a Democratic Party and liberal media who are relentlessly and viciously attempting to kill us politically.  The Democrats and the liberal media take no prisoners.

Rush Limbaugh says the Democrats and liberal media will tell you who they fear most by the intensity of their attacks.  Who have been numbers one, two, and three on the Democrats' and liberal media's list?  Answer: Donald Trump, Sarah Palin, and the Tea Party.  Brothers and sisters, we can beat them!

How do we defeat them?  In addition to ceasing to fear Obama and his liberal media co-conspirators, we must continue doing what we have been doing.  Patriots must continue following their passion and using their gifts and talents wherever needed in our extraordinary divinely inspired Tea Party Movement.

We are blessed with great minds on our side; patriots are writing books, organizing and conceiving various strategies to take back our country.

While some lament that we lack a central leadership organization or charismatic leader, I am grateful for all of our numerous patriot groups and committed individuals.  Each is driven to politically defeat Obama in its own way.  Their spirit is the tea party.

Just as God's grace guided David's stone to topple Goliath, our stone of truth, honor, and freedom will hit its mark and bring down the two headed evil Goliath of the liberal media and the Obama regime in 2012.

Obama Manipulating Government and Buying Off Votes With Our Tax Dollars

Obama is using the power of government, effectiveness of demagoguery and the obvious power or wealth redistribution in order to stack the deck in his favor for re-election.

As clearly stated in the article below:

Obama's potential for a "near lock" in the Electoral College shows the political power of "income redistribution" in combination with an ever-larger, all-pervasive government that (including state and local) controls and spends nearly 40% of GDP in a discriminatory manner …

Members of Obama's potential coalition receive disproportionately large amounts from government but pay little of the cost of government.

With the help of fellow Progressives in government and an irresponsible fawning far left news media … combined with our money stolen away in usurious taxation, he is close to achieving a stolen and manipulated election victory.

Riding Income Redistribution Back To White House In 2012

Ernest S. Christian and Gary A Robbins 04/20/2011

How can Barack Obama be about the worst president in history — and at the same time the "best politician" in America, according to some experts?

Simple answer: Being president is about substance; being a politician is about theatrics. Sometimes, the twain meet and — as in the case of Ronald Reagan and others — produce a statesman.

But not in Obama's case. Just the opposite!

Being a good president involves competence, integrity and making Americans better off, often by stopping government from doing things that make people worse off. (Rep. Paul Ryan's trailblazing blueprint for reducing the deficit and downsizing government is a prime example.)

To Obama, politics is about bamboozling people into thinking that he's making them better off when he's making them worse off.

The trick is to expropriate money from people who work hard and pay their taxes — and use the loot to scatter around enough political lagniappe to piece together a majority of bought-and-paid for votes strategically placed in the right locations to yield an Electoral College victory.

Obama never lets a cynical political ploy go unexploited. He blares away about raising taxes on the "rich." He knows that high taxes ruin the economy and hurt everyone who depends on a nongovernment job for a living.

But so what?

The sotto voce Obama plan: Get rid of pesky Republicans; get re-elected; raise taxes through the roof starting in 2013; knock smug middle-class Americans off their high-earning perch; crash the economy; catch everyone in a new "safety net" where all have the same modest government-controlled income and live under federal supervision.

In his "now you see it, now you don't" speech at George Washington University on April 13, the president of the United States declared war on mainstream America and common sense.

Obama insulted Rep. Ryan for trying to save and reform Medicare. How dare Ryan defy King Barack and stand in the way of ObamaCare and the government-run health care rationing that Americans hate?

Among other cost-cutting priorities, repeal of ObamaCare should be a condition for any increase in the federal debt limit.

Obama's latest phony "solution" to the Obama debt crisis is to appoint a committee to run in circles and gum up Congress sufficiently to delay a Budget Resolution that cuts spending.

Obama is funding a new political imperium built upon a massive voter turnout of government-oriented constituencies. These include government employees (about 17% of total employees); the roughly 60 million people who depend significantly on government assistance; and a large portion of the three rapidly growing "minority" groups who, according to census data, will soon constitute an arithmetic majority in America.

In 2008, African-Americans favored Obama by 95%. Overall, he got 67% of the Hispanic vote and 62% of Asians. In key locations, his percentages were sufficiently enormous and concentrated to tilt the electoral vote count. Obama got 67% of the electoral vote with 53% of the popular vote.

Members of unions vote heavily (60%) for Obama in exchange for favors. So do abortion supporters (73%) and members of the GLBT community (70%).

Obama will get the "kiddie" vote on campuses, the anti-American left, the hard-core environmentalists, the brass-collar Democrats and a lot of nice people who cannot bring themselves to vote against America's first black president.

Obama's potential for a "near lock" in the Electoral College shows the political power of "income redistribution" in combination with an ever-larger, all-pervasive government that (including state and local) controls and spends nearly 40% of GDP in a discriminatory manner among an increasingly diverse and balkanized population.

Members of Obama's potential coalition receive disproportionately large amounts from government but pay little of the cost of government.

A small minority of Americans (roughly one-third of eligible voters) already pay nearly all the personal income tax — and Obama will whip the "tax slaves" into paying more and more until they collapse.

Originally, the disparity in treatment between "net payers" and "net takers" was to help people who were actually poor (instead of merely less well-off than someone else) — but Obama and other levelers have made broad scale "redistribution" the main mission of government.

Jeffrey Miron at Harvard points out that in 2007 — before the recession — Washington was already spending about 50% of the budget on programs designed to redistribute money from the better-off to the less well-off.

The Heritage Foundation's Index of Dependency shows that dependency on government has increased by about 15% since 2007.

In Obama's un-American America, a modest standard of living will become both the minimum and the maximum.

Thanks, but no thanks.

• Robbins, an economist, served at the Treasury Department in the Reagan administration.

We Must Vehemently, Relentless and Vociferously Fight Against Political Correctness, Corruption and Threats to Our Rights and Freedoms

The following article is a well-written and vehement indictment of the passivity of the silent majority and the incomprehensible acceptance by individuals and certain ethnic groups of the political correctness run amok, egregious or corrupt behavior and associations by politicians, etc. Too many have become complacent, silent and feckless. They are afraid to take a stance, whether public or not, against the de facto abrogation of our rights.

This must not be allowed to continue unopposed!

The Silence of the Jews
James Lewis April 10, 2011

We live in an age of public cowardice. That goes for millions of Americans and Europeans, even in the face of simple PC witch-hunts that don't end up burning or jailing people, but only try to destroy reputations and careers. Human beings have stood up to a lot worse than Political Correctness. But we can't seem to rouse ourselves to oppose it. The liberal bullies keep winning, because most of us just look the other way.

Decent people constantly get bashed and bullied by those coneheads at CNN, truly ignorant show-biz airheads, who take it upon themselves to dictate what we, a free people, are allowed to do and say in public. But our constitutional rights of free speech and assembly mean nothing if we do not exercise them. Silence means consent.

This is hugely embarrassing. Where is our self-respect? When did we lose our guts? Why did we cede the moral high ground to bullies and moral throwbacks from the ancient desert? Who made up those rules? I didn't. Did you?

Today we feel guilty about imaginary sins ginned up by the lowlifes at the New York Times and the Washington Post. This is Winston Churchill turned upside-down: Never have so many surrendered so much to so few. Can you really imagine apologizing to the likes of Al Sharpton and Bill Clinton, or to Obama, for the decisions you have made in your life? But that is exactly what we are doing as a people. Michael Barone, the most distinguished political scientist among the political pundits, has labeled this "Gangster Government."

Mr. Obama just went to visit Al Sharpton, right after announcing his new election campaign. Does that give you faith in his moral sensitivity? Or does it just add more evidence to the same story we know so well? And in that case, how could you possibly support Obama or his party?

Internationally things are even worse. We kowtow to an endless freak-show of depraved clowns at the UN and in foreign capitals. Madman Gaddafi goes around parading with a personal body guard of thirty official virgins bearing Kalashnikovs, an internationally famous cross-dressing exhibitionist who has exploded a civilian aircraft over Scotland and had a police woman in London killed by rifle fire. Gaddafi is known to be a madman by all the Arab world. The things he has done to his people are too awful for words. Yet the UN Human Rights Commission now has Muammar Gaddafi, the genocidal Sudan, and Ahmadinejad as full voting members -- and the liberal media are afraid to say how utterly insane that is.

In a healthy society, people who defend the indefensible have their reputations ruined for life. If we defrock and jail abusive priests, well, let's also do that to power-mad, abusive celebrities and political demagogues. Whoopi Goldberg, of all people, defended a criminal warrant-escaping Oscar-winning child rapist with the immortal words, "It wasn't really ‘rape-rape.'"

Well, Whoopi-Whoopi, I'm going to turn your flick-flicks ‘off-off' forever. I challenge anybody reading this to do the ‘same-same.' If enough of us refuse to pay a penny to companies that own and pull the strings on the depraved idols of the culture, their jobs will be ‘gone-gone.' Why can't the normal and decent people of this country get it together? That's the easy part. Don't just sit there, do it.

The Camerons and Merkels and Sarkozys had their bluff called by Libya just this week, and they've crumpled again. After calling for Libya to overthrow that tyrannical freak they can't find the jet planes to keep the pressure on. This is utterly disgusting. Civilized nations hold those who aid and abet criminal actions responsible under the law. Aiding and abetting the enemies of civilization is much worse than mere tax evasion, which the Democratic Party apparently practices as a routine business precaution.

The abhorrence we feel for this level of moral depravity has not changed one little bit since the Nazis. Just because it takes place in Europe or the Middle East does not mean that we should support bloody totalitarians. Your local college campus has been doing exactly that since the 1960s, and we, as a people, have never raised a word of protest, because, after all, there should be academic freedom on campus. That is why the totalitarians of the Left now controls speech on your schools and colleges. Yes, the neo-Stalinist left is doing it --- but we are all submitting to their malevolence without protest. That makes us less than heroic, to say the least.

The United Nations engages in twisted demagogy every single day, and everybody who reads the news headlines, even filtered through the moral midgets of the media, knows that perfectly. This is how one-party Machines operate: Da Mare is as corrupt as the day is long, but nobody can fight City Hall.

Well, that's how oppressed peoples have to act in a brutal tyranny. But in a democracy, people like us take back power at the polls -- if -- and only if -- they can to face the truth. If we do not act, it's because we lack the simple moral fiber our parents and grandparents had. It's not hard and dangerous for us to act. All it takes is concerted action by all the people who are ashamed and embarrassed by the moral depravity of our political leadership. We can stop paying corrupt corporations that control morally depraved celebrities. We can stop paying advertisers who collude with the corrupt and mendacious media. We can start telling them exactly what we think about them. You have free speech. Nobody has beaten you up or thrown you in jail, the way they do in other places. You have freedom, but if you do not exercise it you might as well be living in the gruesome little tyranny of Myanmar.

Our general gutlessness is even more deplorable for those who know the past so well, including American Jews, who can see Israel being more and more surrounded by morally backward reactionaries armed with rockets and missiles (and nukes in another year). We are doing nothing, while America and Israel, and decent Europeans wherever they still exist, are being slandered and scapegoated. No wonder they think they are winning.

Saddam Hussein, Kaddafi, Ahmadinejad, every sleazy little upstart generalissimo in the world gets to spit in the face of the two most decent nations in the world: America and Israel. Why is that? Where is our self-respect? Why do the worst abusers get endless chances to rip the most decent and peaceful people in the world? And our media morons collude with them?

The Democrats command the loyalty of most American Jews. But the Democrats have been penetrated by those who hate tolerance, democracy, and respect for sovereign nations. The Left has played American Jews for suckers. Obama is no exception -- he is supported by an inner circle of ideological fanatics some of whom were born into Jewish families, but somehow never got the point of civilized behavior. Part of that point is: It doesn't matter who you are. It matters how you act. If you collude with evil, you are a criminal in your heart, and perhaps in fact. Civilized nations repudiate criminals no matter who they are.

Israel just convicted its ex-President Katzav of the crime of rape. That crime is not something to feel proud about, but the prosecution is. Few countries in the world can act with that kind of moral seriousness and consistency. The United States used to be one of them. Today I wonder if we still have the simple integrity to administer equal justice for all. If the Left keeps winning, we will lose whatever moral integrity we have left, because arbitrary power goes with arbitrary corruption. We see it every day in Washington, D.C.

Jews are among the most abused peoples in history -- not the only ones, but abused badly enough to remember what it's like. Jews should therefore be the most alert to the rise of hate preachers, the kind of thing that the MEMRI website translates into English every day. In a decent world the New York Times would simply take a running RSS feed from the MEMRI website. It would easily triple their accuracy score. The NYT could restore its reputation for honesty and integrity in a single instant, and even rescue its crumbling business model. Obviously they are far too corrupt and morally blind to do anything like that.

I don't personally like the idea of burning books. It goes against my grain. But I would symbolically burn Hitler's Mein Kampf and the works of Jozef Stalin, and so many other books that are brainwashing ignorant people today -- symbolically only, to demonstrate contempt for the worst evils human beings are capable of. That seems to me to be a moral act, in a world where PR stunts govern the headlines every day. If the Left burns the American Flag and tears up the US Constitution, perhaps there is a role for symbolically demonstrating the moral depravity of the Left and Islamic fascism. Killing an innocent human being is infinitely worse than barbecuing a call to genocide and persecution.

A small minority of Americans and Europeans, Christian and Jews and non-religious, have long been aware of the rise of neo-fascism from the Left and Islamic reactionaries. But the majority are sound asleep, in psychological denial, or just afraid to speak up: Like lambs to the slaughter. It is a dreadful thing to behold.

Conservatives keep asking why Jews vote for the Left. Part of the answer seems to be that Jews get suckered by utopian promises. If only we elect a clean-looking black Democrat from the Chicago Machine to the American presidency, all the problems of the Middle East will be solved! Jews may yearn for peace because they have felt the ravages of war and persecution. They may easily be taken in by false hopes that all it will take is a little bit of compromise, a little peace talk, for everything to turn out all right in the Middle East.

But there is no excuse for willing stupidity. I don't care how good your intentions are, if you do not have the courage to open your eyes you are colluding with evil.

Even before Obama, Israel was the only nation in the world directly threatened by nuclear proliferation to mad regimes -- covered up by UN criminocrat Mohammed El Baradei, who naturally received a Nobel Prize for his collusion with the nuclear maniacs in Tehran. Just a few days ago El Baradei came out of the closet by calling for Egypt to go to war against Israel if it defends itself against rocket barrages from Gaza. It's part of his election campaign in Egypt, believe it or not. Was anybody surprised? If you were, you haven't been paying attention. Ignorance of the law is no excuse, and ignorance of malignant evil is much, much worse.

Has anybody noticed these facts at the New York Times, where Baradei was butt-kissed while he was peddling lies about Iranian nukes? Is anybody over there waking up? I don't see it.

Ahmadinejad is celebrating a nuclear Armageddon to come, and the Left is getting panicked by the American Tea Party.

Please. It is beyond belief.

The New York Times covered up the worst crimes of Hitler and Stalin when its correspondents knew exactly what was going on there. Those facts are known beyond reasonable doubt. Today the NYT-wits are covering up Iranian nukes and the spread of Islamic fascism, when they again know exactly what is going on. At some point collusion becomes a crime. Media collusion is what keeps corrupt political machines alive. It follows that the corporate owners and executives of media companies must be held morally liable for the malfeasance they cover up. They do not deserve to make millions by spreading toxic lies. If they engage in systematic libel they should be held to the same standards that ordinary people are. In many countries deliberate libel that does material harm to innocent people is a civil offense.

Turkey is now run by the Muslim Brotherhood, and pro-democratic Turks have been purged from the police and the armed forces. Egypt is going the same way, after Obama brutally pushed Mubarak out of power. The totalitarian Left is treacherously spreading slanders, like the Goldstone Report, about Israel -- the same slanders it propagated about the United States in the case of Abu Graib (where the goofball perps were already arrested and headed for trial when the media got the photos, and used Abu Graib to bash George W. Bush for five years).

You can't read about the Left over the past two centuries without knowing they are murderous enemies to civilized life anywhere in the world. That is why they keep making friends among the worst totalitarians -- the ones that tyrannize women and kill children, the ones that promote suicide bombing of innocent civilians by the thousands. The totalitarian Left worked hand in hand with the Nazis, and today they are doing the same with reactionary throwbacks in Tehran, Cairo, and Jeddah. Don't take my word for it. Just watch them do it. It's not a secret. They don't even bother to keep it secret.

If your eyes are already open, talk to everybody you know. Don't be intimidated. You live in a free country, and you are keeping it free by exercising your rights.

Two years into Obama's term the Middle East is falling apart. The Saudis are running scared, because Obama just delights in destroying all the unstable Arab regimes -- and the Saudis are none too stable themselves. Even medieval Saudi Arabia thinks America is run by un homme aliene, as Sarkozy called him. Iran is sending modern warships into the Mediterranean. Russia has a new naval base in Syria, and Assad has a second nuclear plant that's just been uncovered.

Meanwhile Obama is running for reelection, and I'll bet that a majority of brain-dead liberals will vote for him again. Obama has made nice with the most dangerous tyrants in Iran and North Korea, and now he is doing the most amazing thing any American president has ever done: He is deliberately pushing unstable allies into collapse.

Rumor has it that even Hillary is ready to leave. I wonder if she has the guts to tell the truth? If so, I might even vote for her. My standard is now truth-telling: Donald Trump, Sarah Palin, Hillary, I don't care. We are suffering from toxic lies, and a refreshing breath of truth reminds us that truth exists.

Ordinary Americans have allowed one of our political parties to be taken over by the totalitarian Left -- the people who instantly try to control your free speech, because they know that if you can be made to shut up about politics you can be rendered helpless. That is why there are speech codes on American campuses and in our news rooms. Speech codes are inherently totalitarian. The Left has totalitarian swings. Since the "Berkeley Free Speech Movement" of the 60s the Left has slammed the free speech door shut. We now have Forbidden Speech from the Left. That is why they are attacking the free web through the lie of "net neutrality."

We live in an age of corruption, and an age of cowardice among free peoples.

But the silence of American Jews on the fate of Israel is the most ominous reality today.

$5 Billion Obamacare Slush Fund Corruptly Buys Influence and Votes

Through previously secret clauses in Obamacare, Obama and the Democrats are corruptly buying votes with billions of our taxpayer dollars. It’s an outrage that should not be tolerated by the American public.

The Early Retiree Reinsurance Program (ERRP), buried deep within the leviathan legislation, provides $5 billion to private companies, states and labor unions that is to be used for the payment of health insurance for those who are retiring and are under age 65. Not surprisingly, a significantly disproportionate amount of the money is going to unions, and companies and states that are strong supporters of the Democrats. Some is even going to the "mainstream" media (the Left) which, of course, doesn't hurt with regard to even more positive, gushing press coverage of Obama and the Democrats.

Such a slush fund is corrupt, intolerable and a massive waste of taxpayer dollars. Furthermore, this has nothing to do with the need for healthcare reform and everything to do with influence peddling.

This is yet more evidence of the depravity and duplicity of too many of our politicians (largely Democrats), the inherent problems of a large government and why it needs to be radically downsized, and the wasteful spending of the government. It adds another reason why Obamacare must be vaporized.

Washington Post and CBS receiving money from Obamacare slush fund
Matthew Boyle    The Daily Caller    04/06/2011

Two mainstream news organizations are receiving hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars from Obamacare’s Early Retiree Reinsurance Program (ERRP) — a $5 billion grant program that’s doling out cash to companies, states and labor unions in what the Obama administration considers an effort to pay for health insurance for early retirees. The Washington Post Company raked in $573,217 in taxpayer subsidies and CBS Corporation secured $722,388 worth of Americans’ money.

“It is fine with me if they continue covering the ObamaCare debate,” said Rep. Marsha Blackburn, Republican of Tennessee, in an e-mail to The Daily Caller. “When NBC used to cover energy issues, they identified themselves as a subsidiary of General Electric. CBS and Washington Post just have to disclose that they are subsidiaries of the Obama Administration.”

The ERRP, which Republicans call a slush fund, provides taxpayer money to Obama administration-selected states, companies and labor unions with already-in-place early retiree health insurance programs, and aims to make certain that their employees who retire early still have health insurance coverage before they reach Medicare eligibility age. Almost $2 billion of the $5 billion fund, which was supposed to last until 2014, has already been distributed to corporations. New projections expect the funding to run out before the end of 2012, if not sooner.

At a Friday morning hearing, the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, chaired by Rep. Cliff Stearns, Florida Republican, asked Center for Consumer Information & Insurance Oversight (CCIO) official Steven Larsen for how the administration decides who gets a slice of the $5 billion pie – and how the application process works. In his response, Stearns referred to the fact that corporations like General Electric, Verizon and AT&T in addition to several labor unions were getting taxpayer funding.

Stearns was not impressed. “This program is providing ‘free’ money to corporations, states, unions, and pension plans,” the Congressman said in an e-mail to TheDC. “In addition, the Washington Post and CBS received funding under this program. How can the Washington Post and CBS be impartial on the issue of health care when they received funding under the health care law?”

CBS Corporation spokesman Gil Schwartz told TheDC that newsroom employees, like any other CBS employees, are indeed allowed to take the taxpayer subsidies.

“Yes they are,” Schwartz said. “Why wouldn’t newsroom employees be allowed access to that money like all other CBS employees?”
CBS gets the money from the government, then provides early retirees with health insurance.

Though no current newsroom employees can benefit from the ERRP funds, they could retire early and still benefit from the money – or any newsroom employee who has retired since Obamacare became law could benefit from it too.

The Washington Post declined to comment. “We have no additional information to provide you other than what you have,” Post spokeswoman Rima Calderon told TheDC.

A spokeswoman for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) told TheDC she couldn’t disclose information about applications or disbursements for specific companies.

In addition to CBS Corporation and the Washington Post Company, recipients of ERRP funding include the United Auto Workers union, which secured $206,798,086 in taxpayer money, AT&T, which took in $140,022,949, and General Electric (GE), which raked in $36,607,818. GE has made headlines recently for not paying any U.S. taxes last year. IBM got $12,989,690 in taxpayer money.

Verizon pulled $91,702,538 in taxpayer cash, too, and General Motors received $19,002,669. More than $6 million went to different Teamsters groups nationwide, and millions more went to the United Mine Workers, United Food and Commercial Workers, the AFL-CIO and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

Dreams May Turn to Nightmares for the Mendacious Obama

Irrefutably, Obama is not what he was purported to be or was constructed and marketed by committee to be. His personal history before the election had been largely shrouded in an assiduously suppressed mystery.

He was an enigma but as it turns out, also a habitual lie.

Obama is a construction by the radical left but now is in a state of free fall and deconstruction. Even his most ardent supporters and purveyors of his factitious persona are losing patience with him.

Louis Farakhan. Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Bill Ayers. And so on.

Though revealed through research by Jack Cashill and others that his acclaimed autobiography “Dreams From My Father” was actually penned by the erstwhile Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers, it wasn’t until just now that the latter actually admitted this fact publicly. Thus, the plaudits that Obama received for his intellectual brilliance and writing skills on this work were wholly undeserved and his acceptance and dishonesty regarding the matter - egregious. The effusive praise continually expressed by the Left and media regarding Obama and this autobiography which clearly helped supercharge his Presidential campaign, was therefore completely undeserved. This recent admission by Ayers of his authorship also repudiates Obama’s specious claims that he knew little of him and that Ayers was “just someone living in the neighborhood”.

Obama, himself an inveterate liar, is a manipulated and manufactured lie who is now disintegrating.

Imploding.

Obama has truly become the “Emperor without clothes”.

Ayers affirms he wrote Dreams from my Father
Jack Cashill  March 27, 2011

Last Thursday evening at Montclair State University, with a video camera rolling, Bill Ayers volunteered that yes indeed he had written the acclaimed Barack Obama memoir, Dreams from My Father.

Unprompted, Ayers also noted that while Dreams deserves its praise, Obama's second opus, Audacity of Hope, is "more of a political hack book."

Not surprisingly, Ayers retreated into irony as he ended the session. "Yeah, yeah," he said after confirming again that he wrote Dreams, "And if you help me prove it, I'll split the royalties with you. Thank you very much."

With his final comment, the Ayers-friendly audience laughed in relief. The media will laugh nervously upon seeing the video as well. The White House will not.

Barack Obama knows what I know and what the people who have read my book, "Deconstructing Obama," know: Bill Ayers is the principal craftsman behind Dreams. The evidence is overwhelming.

Ayers also established, as I have contended from the beginning, that he is not the author of Audacity of Hope. Although Obama claims unique authorship of this book too, it was, as Ayers suggests, a disingenuous feint to the center written by committee.

Worse for Obama still, Ayers knows that the story he and Obama contrived in Dreams is false in many key details. The fact that Donald Trump has proved willing to challenge that story has got to make the White House even more apprehensive.

As was obvious in his speech at Montclair, Ayers does not like the application of force in Libya, and this may have been his own way of retaliating. Consider it a shot across Obama's bow. The White House will.

We May be in the Midst of a “Bloodless” Revolution

We may just be in the midst of “bloodless” revolution of epic proportions that is not far behind that of the Civil War or even the original American Revolution. With the far reaching and noxious tentacles of our ever burgeoning and increasingly tyrannical federal government that is sucking out our life’s work in oppressive taxes and restricting our rights and freedoms with infinite and costly regulations, this pronouncement is not hyperbole.

“Give me Liberty or Give me (Death)” is not an anachronistic chant as tens of millions of Americans have become thoroughly disgusted with our contemptuous, profligate, over-taxing, somewhat omnipotent federal government that has become too corrupted in the Progressive/Liberal design.

We need to ratchet up the decibel level of our disgust against the elitism and disdain of the Obama/Reid/Pelosi et al Progressives, neutralize and reverse their actions. Concurrently, we must relentlessly support those Conservatives and Republicans championing our causes, whether they are local, in our State Houses or in Congress.

We have an awful lot riding on this.

The Real Revolution Has Begun
J. Robert Smith  February 21, 2011

How delicious is irony, how fickle fate?

Just a little more than two years ago, liberals were ecstatic about Barack Obama's election and Democrats' control of Congress.  Liberal pundits were all atwitter about the brand new Democratic Era that voters had ushered in.  America would finally become what America should have been years ago: a European-style social democracy.

Boy, did Democrats misread their mandate!  With very little hindsight needed, it's apparent to all but ideologically-blinkered liberals that the Democrats' gross overreach isn't what voters wanted or expected.  Voters wanted a redo of the Clinton years.  Instead, in the person of Barack Obama, voters got an amalgam of FDR and LBJ with a dash of Neville Chamberlin thrown in.

But here's the real kicker.  Two years of Obama-Reid-Pelosi overreach and excesses may have been the table-setter for the real revolution now unfolding.  Voters and taxpayers first needed to see the irresponsibility and recklessness of unalloyed liberalism to appreciate that conservative government is far superior.  Thank you, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid.

Of course, the real revolution began last year with the 2010 midterm elections.  Yes, the GOP made the largest gains in U.S. House seats since 1948.  But the underappreciated story is that the GOP racked up huge gains in state legislative contests, and further down ballot, Republicans swept plenty of local offices.  State legislatures control congressional redistricting.  Republicans now dominate enough key statehouses to lock-in GOP congressional electoral advantages for a decade.

Had voters limited their ballots to throwing out the rascals in Congress, a fair argument could be made that 2010 was just a protest vote -- an attempt by voters to shake up the Democrats.  But when voters drill down to change party control of legislatures, city halls, and county commissions, you can bet that they're thoroughly repudiating the party in power.  The 2010 repudiation of Democrats was a clear expression of what voters did and didn't want from government.

Move now to the present time.  Republicans are on the march in Congress.  Late last week, House Republicans passed a budget bill containing $61 billion in cuts.  It's not the $100 billion that conservatives aimed for, but it's substantial and can be considered a down payment.  The House Republican proposal now goes to the Senate.  The budget process wrangling is just in its first phase.  Moving forward, the GOP will have multiple opportunities to push more cuts.

And look what else House Republicans are doing.  They're using the budget process to hamstring Obamacare by denying it funding.  Shutting down and then nixing ObamaCare would be an historic victory in the fight to end liberalism's nearly hundred-year dominance; it would be one of those critical turning points in history -- like Vicksburg and Gettysburg -- a momentum shifter that leads to other key victories, such as entitlements reform.

Also, Indiana Republican Mike Pence offered and passed an amendment cutting funding for the odious abortion mill called Planned Parenthood.  Another amendment, offered by Oregon Republican Greg Walden, that passed, chokes off funds for the Federal Communications Commission's net-neutrality gambit.  Net -neutrality would concentrate more power in the FCC's hands and stymie free speech across the internet.  Net-neutrality could well have been made in China.

Of course, the revolution just beginning isn't confined to the Halls of Congress.  Chris Christie, New Jersey's intrepid Republican governor, fired the first shots last year in the burgeoning struggle to bring sanity back to state affairs.  Christie's efforts aren't limited to balancing state budgets and reining in taxes, important as those things are.  Christie is working to limit government and expand the playing field for the private sector.  As we're seeing, government without proper limits is a ruinous beast.  California is a prime example.

Now newly elected Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker is making headlines because he dares to say that his state is broke and that the public employees' gravy train needs to end.  Governor Walker wants to end collective bargaining for public employees, excepting police and firefighters, on the simple, common sense premise that employees shouldn't be negotiating the hours they work, among other things.

In Ohio, Governor John Kasich is gearing up to slash budgets, rollback taxes, cut regulations, and confront the Buckeye State's public employee unions.  There'll be fireworks aplenty in Columbus.

Thomas Jefferson is being proven right again.  The states are the laboratories of democracy.  Christie, Kasich, and Walker are seeking to demonstrate that limited, financially responsible government is best for economic and societal health.  If successful -- and we should all have high confidence that these governors will succeed -- the lessons will not be lost on voters and politicians in other states.  Revolutions are like that; it takes just a few courageous leaders to embolden others and for revolutions to spread.

A marvelous, if unintended, consequence of this burgeoning conservative revolution is what it's doing to liberalism.  The budding conservative revolution is starting to place strains on liberalism; beginning to make liberals and their allies fight defensive battles in multiple -- and multiplying -- places.  Call this a modified Cloward-Piven -- or Cloward-Piven turned on its masters.

Challenging liberal governance, and pressing limited government reforms, will help bring down liberalism across the nation.  And that should be an indisputable aim of the new conservative revolution.  Liberalism became a pox on the nation years ago.  Marginalizing liberalism would be an incomparable service to generations to come -- and to those kids being lied to now by too many Wisconsin teachers.

"Change We Can Believe In."  Mr. Obama's slogan always had a nice ring to it, but it was misapplied and a little ahead of its time.  With the conservative revolution, change we can really believe in has arrived.  How's that for rich irony?
